Day 1: Addis Ababa

Upon your arrival, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Take a moment to refresh before beginning your exploration of Addis Ababa. Start with a scenic drive up Mount Entoto for a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Descend to visit the National Museum, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to view the ancient ‘Lucy’ fossil, one of the oldest hominid specimens ever discovered. Continue to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, an architectural marvel built during World War II. Next head to the Ethnographic Museum, formerly the palace of Emperor Haile Selassie, offering valuable insights into Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage. Conclude your day with a visit to Merkato, the largest open-air market in East Africa, before retiring for the night at your hotel in Addis Ababa.

Day 2: Addis Ababa – Bonga

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Jimma. From there, a scenic drive will take you to Bonga, the birthplace of coffee, located 125 kilometers from Jimma. Upon arrival, visit a traditional Kaffa house to immerse yourself in the local culture, followed by lunch in Bonga. The afternoon will feature excursions to Ellelo, the stunning Adiyo Falls, Dadiben and the Gora Hot Springs. End your day with dinner and an overnight stay at the Kaffa Guest House.

Day 3: Makira

Begin your day with an early trek to Mankira, the legendary site where Arabica coffee was first discovered. En route, visit the historic Adaracha Medhane Alem Church and the natural wonder, Gurguto Bridge. After a day rich in cultural and natural discoveries, enjoy dinner and spend the night at the Kaffa Guest House.
