Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa is Ethiopia’s Capital city.  It means in Amharic “New Flower”. It is the most populous city in the country. Lies at an altitude of 2400 meters.  Hence, is a well wooded city with eucalyptus trees. And is a vivid and noisy sprawl of four million people. 

Addis is first chosen as a site by Empress Taitu Bitul. Taitu Bitul is spouse of Menelik II. It was one of the most revered in Ethiopia’s history, in the late 19th century. Because the site contains a budding flower and hot thermal. This City might not be the reason why visitors come here what looking for, but it does offer the feel of colorful and vibrant city in an entirely welcoming atmosphere. Further more, a melting pot of a diverse array of ethnic groups.

Also, Addis is a city with a boom in construction. Audacious buildings co-exist with tattered house with iron sheet, a mix of slums and shining shopping centers. The new and old elements co-exist in harmony. The city that is seeing building craze is filled with cranes, diggers, fences, and piles upon piles of rubble. Comfortable hotels, excellent restaurants, plentiful environment, and ideal climate make the stay in the city pleasant.
